Celebrating NT’s Young Australian of the Year – Nilesh Dilushan!

Study NT Ambassador Alumni, Nilesh (Nil), was awarded the 2025 NT Young Australian of the Year and attended the awards ceremony in Canberra earlier this year.

Nil’s journey began six years ago when he arrived in the NT as a young dreamer with a suitcase full of hopes. Since then, he has worked tirelessly to create positive change through volunteering and community service. Through initiatives like Kindness Shake and Young Rotaract Professionals NT, he has helped upskill young people, create employment pathways, and break down barriers.

Reflecting on this incredible achievement, Nil shares:
"I feel responsible. Responsible for inspiring, empowering, and transforming more young leaders from our local communities."

From Australia's most Northern Capital to the Nation’s Capital, Nil’s story is proof that ordinary people with extraordinary determination have the power to make a real difference.
