Study NT International Student Accommodation Grant
Study NT has established the Study NT International Student Accommodation Grant to assist international students with their relocation to the Northern Territory (NT). For successful applicants, the grant covers AUD $1,000 of a student's accommodation fee at either UniLodge Darwin or CDU Village Casuarina, located on-campus at Charles Darwin University (CDU).
Applications are open to international students who have been accepted to study with an international education and training provider in the NT. Before applying, students should familiarise themselves with the eligibility criteria mentioned in "who can apply".
Applicants must:
- not already live in the NT when applying for this grant
- must be planning to move to the NT from interstate or overseas
- not hold current Australian citizenship or Australian permanent residency
- have been granted a valid student visa (subclass 500)
- have applied and obtained an offer of admission to study in the NT. Study NT requires evidence that the applicant is commencing studies at the applicant’s chosen NT education and training provider (such as a confirmation of enrolment document from the student’s institution)
- commence studying in the NT prior to 1 June 2026
- not have received a Study in Australia's Northern Territory Scholarship
- not have received the UniLodge 2026 International High Achievers Accommodation Scholarship.
International students enrolled in short courses or non-accredited courses are not eligible to apply. The course must be at least a duration of 24 weeks to be eligible to apply for this grant.
The Accommodation Grant is available for one person only, couples and dependents are not eligible to stay at the accommodation provider.
The Accommodation Grant is $1,000 ex GST per eligible applicant.
Grant payments (one-off payment) will be issued to your accommodation provider after you have arrived in the Northern Territory, and checked into either UniLodge or CDU Village Casuarina.

Study NT will assess your application in consultation with the participating accommodation providers.
If your application is successful, you will receive an email from GrantsNT.
The grant will be paid directly to your accommodation provider, after you have arrived in the Northern Territory.
Your accommodation provider will notify us when you have arrived / checked into the property.
