Meet Erika Wibowo

Erika

My passion for pharmacy was sparked by witnessing the consequences of medication errors and patient non-adherence, which motivated me to pursue a career in this field. I earned both a Bachelor of Pharmacy and a Pharmacy Professional Degree from Universitas Surabaya. After graduation, I worked as a hospital pharmacist at Siloam Hospitals Surabaya for two years, where I was involved in patient counselling, managing pharmacy assistants, contributing to the tuberculosis care team, and serving as a pharmacy risk officer.

I chose to pursue a Master of Pharmacy at Charles Darwin University (CDU) because its program aligns perfectly with my career goals. The curriculum, with its focus on pharmacotherapy, dosage determination, and medicine management, is essential for my growth as a clinical pharmacist. CDU’s combination of theoretical knowledge and practical training, along with its emphasis on innovative therapies and approaches to pharmacy practice, will significantly enhance my expertise. Additionally, CDU is ranked number 2 in Australia for postgraduate full-time employment outcomes, making it ideal for advancing my career.

Studying in the Northern Territory, Darwin presents a unique opportunity to engage with a culturally diverse community while addressing healthcare needs in remote and underserved areas. I am excited to apply my clinical skills in community pharmacies and hospitals, ensuring patients receive appropriate medications and patient-oriented care, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide safe and effective treatments. Ultimately, I aim to improve health outcomes and contribute to the well-being of individuals and communities in Darwin and beyond.

I am deeply grateful and truly honoured to receive the Study in Australia’s Northern Territory Scholarship. I would like to sincerely thank the Northern Territory Government and Charles Darwin University for entrusting me with this life-changing, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
