Meet Peter Torio
I came to Australia two years ago filled with hope and eagerness to explore more of myself and the many opportunities this awesome country has to offer. My decision of moving to Darwin is definitely geared towards personal growth, cultural exposure and professional career enrichment.
My name is Ton and I was born in one of the northern provinces in the Philippines. Though I spent most of my life growing up in the city, I always make it a point to go home and reunite with my roots whenever I can. I was a banker for the first three years of my professional career not knowing that Australia has something else in store for me. I got in to the healthcare sector and worked in aged-care facilities ever since. I loved every moment of this shift in my career and I wouldn't have it any other way.
As I start another chapter with a career in nursing, I would like to express my gratitude to the Northern Territory Government for establishing the Study NT Scholarship Program and for the head start that it offers to many international students like me. I pray that more people benefit from the program as we all look forward to eventually giving back in the future.
