Meet Erika Mae Lu
Moving to Darwin as a high school student from the Philippines, Erika began her studies with Darwin High School before continuing to study at Charles Darwin University, graduating with a Bachelor of Business with a double major in Marketing and Management. Today, Erika is a Partnerships and Engagement Consultant with the NT Government and this year will be celebrating 5 years in the NT public sector doing what she loves.
Erika supports the Filipino-Australian Association, Kindness Shake, Starlight Children’s Foundation, Answering the Cry of the Poor, and many more. Her dedication to the community has not gone unnoticed, and she was awarded the 2023 City of Darwin - Young Citizen of the Year Award. She was a finalist at the Volunteering NT - Chief Minister’s Youth Volunteer of the Year Award and was appointed Australia Day Ambassador, promoting Darwin’s diversity.
As a student, Erika was awarded the International Business Council and Business Student of the Year at the NT Export and Industry Awards 2019. Erika also received academic awards in high school and letters of recognition from the CDU College Dean for outstanding academic excellence.
