2024 International Students Welcome Reception

Last week we welcomed over 300 international students, businesses, community groups and multicultural organisations at the 2024 Study NT International Student Welcome Reception. 

Held in the Beachside Pavilion on the lawns of the Mindil Beach Casino and Resort, the stunning Darwin sunset was the perfect back drop for an evening of celebration.

The event was filled with face painting, fire twirling, entertainment, laughter and excitement. Attendees also got to meet and cuddle with local Northern Territory animals! 

We celebrated the Study in Australia’s Northern Territory scholarship recipients as they were awarded their certificates and guests enjoyed many more activities such as a photobooth and engaging with community services such as Kindness Shake, Headspace and Darwin Community Legal Services. 

Our scholarships recipients had this to say about being supported through the Study in Australia’s Northern Territory scholarship program:

"I wanted to study speech and language therapy at Charles Darwin University because the courses were very practical. Receiving this scholarship has helped me so much financially. I came here with my Mom, and Study NT has made me felt like I'm at home, helping ensure that my transition in Darwin was smooth.

This partnership helped me, not only with my studies but the whole atmosphere that Study NT creates makes me feel like I'm very well taken care of and the gesture of inviting us here to give us the scholarship certificate feels like I'm doing something worthwhile. 

So thank you very much for the opportunity, it helps to open many different opportunities. The support is amazing because you never know what kind of challenges someone is facing, and with an event like this you feel like home and you know everybody is welcoming. I want to say that from the depths of my heart that I really truly thank you."
