Meet Samia Akter

I began my journey in Australia in 2023 as an international student, pursuing further studies with a strong interest in technology, student engagement, and community building.
Studying in the Northern Territory (NT) has been a meaningful experience for me, supporting my academic growth while also building my confidence, adaptability, and independence away from home. Living in Darwin has further enriched my journey through its multicultural environment, resilience, and strong sense of community.
Alongside my studies, I have gained experience in education support roles and through volunteering, including supporting the CDU IT Code Fair and the Networking Summit program. These experiences have strengthened my communication skills and my ability to work effectively in team environments. In my spare time, I enjoy exploring new places, connecting with people from different cultural backgrounds, and expressing myself creatively through singing, dancing, and photography.
As a 2026 Study NT Student Ambassador, I am excited to represent the NT as a welcoming, inclusive, and rewarding destination for students from around the world. I look forward to using my leadership, public speaking, and networking skills to showcase the opportunities available in the NT and to support the local community. Through my experiences, I hope to help future students feel informed, confident, and supported in their decision to study in the NT.
