Meet Gilbertofer Tanoto

Life in the Northern Territory has been an absolute blast—there’s no place like it where adventure meets opportunity.
I’m currently studying for a Bachelor of IT at Charles Darwin University (CDU), pursuing a data analyst role, and also working as a Student Support Officer. One of my proudest moments was winning the Northern Territory Digital Excellence Award with my incredible team, a true celebration of teamwork and innovation. I also had a fantastic time on the Radicle Roadshow trip, where I connected with inspiring people and shared ideas about tech and creativity.
When I’m not studying or working, I’m all about exploring new things. Whether I’m performing a magic trick, playing music, running the CDU Music Society, snapping photos, or making videos, I love being part of the community. The Northern Territory’s positive vibe makes it all the more rewarding.
As a member of the United Nations Association of Australia, I’m passionate about inclusivity, sustainability, and diversity; all of which are embraced here in the Northern Territory. Being chosen as a 2025 Study NT Student Ambassador is a huge honor, and I’m pumped to show the world why the Northern Territory is such an awesome place to study, live, and thrive.
"Terima kasih" for the support, and here’s to making 2025 a cracker of a year! Cheers, mate, and have a good one!!
