Meet Preeti

Preeti studies a Master of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Charles Darwin University. Preeti has supported her peers as the CDU Student Council’s Women’s Officer, where she has regularly met with international students, listened to their concerns, challenges and achievements and raised awareness of the support services available to them.

 

Preeti has also been instrumental in the success of the Be a Better Human campaign which tackles the topics of sexual violence on campus, respect, consent and empathy.

 

She celebrates international students and their contributions to CDU and the community by interviewing female students and creating monthly articles, highlighting exceptional stories, which are published in the CDUSC newsletter and on social media platforms.

 

With Inspired NT, Preeti engaged with school students to introduce STEM pathways and careers in a fun, accessible, and inspiring way.

 

Preeti’s academic excellence was formally recognised at the 2025 CDU Faculty of Science and Technology Student Prize Giving Ceremony, where she received two awards: the Engineers Australia Award for Outstanding Commitment to the Promotion of Engineering, and the Territory Generation Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Electrical Engineering – Female Student.
