Meet Muhammad Kamal Chohan

Muhammad Kamal Chohan from Pakistan, studies a Bachelor of Information Technology at Charles Darwin University.

 

Since arriving in Darwin in March 2023, Kamal has actively supported international students by helping them settle, connect, and thrive in the Northern Territory. He organised the "International Student Days Out" for 30 newly arrived international students, to explore Darwin’s iconic locations while building peer networks. Kamal represented Kindness Shake at 10+ major events in the Territory, provided mentorship as CDU student ambassador, and offered advice to help them navigate study challenges and opportunities.

 

As Chair of the Multicultural Youth Council NT (MyNT), Kamal and his council members conducted surveys with 200+ young people and used insights to advocate for policies addressing racism and social inclusion. He is passionate about empowering multicultural students to have a stronger voice in the Territory.
