Meet Gilbertofer Tanoto

Gilbertofer Tanoto is from Indonesia and studying Bachelor of Information and Technology at Charles Darwin University and has been advocating for student needs through his various roles as Student Leader @ CDU, CDU Student Ambassador, Study NT Student Ambassador, and Vice President of the CDU Student Council. Gilbert assists new students during orientation, provides mentoring and helps his peers settle into their new surroundings.

 

As a part of Radicle Centre at CDU, Gilbert participated in the Radicle Roadtrip where he travelled to regional areas of the NT to inspire school students in science, technology, and higher education, while helping bridge gaps in access to STEM opportunities.

 

Beyond the university, Gilbert contributed to the broader NT community through the NT Youth Round Table 2025, where he worked with other young leaders to raise the voices of young people in decision-making. He also participated in the NT Youth Parliament and contributed to design and present petition bills, developing real policy ideas for the Territory.

 

As a First Nations Tutor, he supported First Nations students in STEM-related subject through the Transition to Education Program (TEP).
