Meet Fransisca (Chacha) Tenorio

Fransisca Tenorio
Fransisca (Chacha) Tenorio, originally from Indonesia, graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing from Charles Darwin University in 2013.

Since migrating to Australia in 2010, Chacha has built a remarkable and diverse career.

After starting a family, Chacha shifted from clinical nursing to research and health leadership. At Menzies School of Health Research (MSHR), she worked as a Clinical Research Nurse/Clinical Trials Manager, leading multiple trials focused on improving health outcomes for First Nations children in the NT. She then joined NT Health’s Clinical Innovation and Research Unit, managing the Research Governance Office and Clinical Trials Coordination Units.

She successfully implemented national research reforms, building research capability across NT Health and ensuring all research met the highest ethical and safety standards. A major career milestone was successfully leading the implementation of the Australian Teletrial Program in the NT, enabling people in regional and remote communities to access cutting-edge clinical trials closer to home.

Chacha’s work has been recognised nationally and internationally. She actively champions the inclusion and representation of the NT in key forums and collaborations and has been invited to speak at numerous events in Australia and the USA.

Congratulations, Chacha, on your inspiring journey!
