International student of the year award profile – Jimena Espitia

When she won the 2021 award Jimena was studying a Diploma in Marketing and Social Media with the International House Business College, was a Study NT Student Ambassador, and a volunteer for international student-led organisation, Kindness Shake.

Jimena says that “winning the award has been one of the most remarkable experiences in my life. It gave me the confidence to pursue my passion for events and I am now working as an event coordinator with Agentur, a highly-experienced creative event management company in Darwin. In my role I help to create unique, large scale events, conference and exhibitions.”

Jimena’s advice to international students this year who are considering applying is “not to doubt yourself. This is a great opportunity to flourish and learn, so trust in yourself and showcase the value and enormous contributions you bring the Northern Territory community”.
