Applications OPEN for 2027 Student Ambassador program

International students living and studying in the Northern Territory are encouraged to apply for the 2027 Study NT Student Ambassador Program!

Established in 2016, the program has supported almost 200 international students to develop their leadership skills, grow their professional networks and promote the Northern Territory as a welcoming and vibrant study destination. Each year, up to 20 ambassadors are selected from universities, vocational education and training (VET) providers, schools and English language colleges across the Territory.

The year-long program, commencing in February 2027, offers ambassadors valuable opportunities to build their personal and professional skills through monthly development sessions focused on public speaking, leadership, networking, personal branding and social media engagement.

Participants also gain hands-on experience through volunteering at community, cultural and professional events, connecting with employers and community organisations, and representing the Territory in Study NT marketing campaigns and promotional activities.

Current Study NT Student Ambassador Tania Cortez from Latitude College said the program had provided valuable personal and professional growth opportunities.

"The program has helped me develop my communication, writing and other professional skills, as well as giving me the opportunity to participate in volunteering, community activities and events," Ms Cortez said.

"Most importantly, the program has helped me build a strong sense of community and reminded me that Darwin is not just where we study, but a place we can now call home."
