International student Hriday Nayyar launches new book

Hriday Nayyar, an aspiring international student from India and finalist in the 2024 Study NT International Student of the Year Award, has launched a book which he hopes reminds readers that they are never alone. On 15 January 2025, Hriday officially launched his new book, Life Chronicles: Experiences and Challenges, at the Darwin Waterfront.

Hriday's book reflects on his personal growth and the importance of community connections, with a special focus on the role the Territory has played in his journey. It also celebrates the Top End as an inspiring destination for international students and individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Hriday moved to Australia six years ago and is currently completing a Bachelors of Education (Secondary) at Charles Darwin University.

He said he hoped his story could draw new faces to the Territory. “There’s a lot of challenges being an international student,” he said.

“So I wanted this to be a book about celebration, belonging and passion. I didn’t write it for sale purposes; I wrote it because I wanted readers to know that there is always someone behind you and you are not alone.”

Hriday began writing his book almost two and a half years ago, just after moving from Melbourne to Darwin.

“I saw this as my opportunity to do something I’ve always wanted to do and I took it,” he said. Joining his parents, who are also educators, Hriday said teaching was his passion.

“I really see myself as an educator and teaching those kids. It’s satisfying to me to be able to make a difference in someone else's life.” he said.

The Study NT team congratulates Hriday for this amazing achievement and wish him all the best in his future endeavours!
