Study NT partners with Cricket NT to boost international student growth

Following a successful collaboration in 2025, Study NT is taking its support of the Top End T20 Series to the next level as Naming Rights Partner for the next two years with Cricket NT.

The 2025 Top End T20 Series attracted a global audience of more than 53 million viewers, providing a powerful platform to showcase the education opportunities, lifestyle and career pathways on offer in Australia's Northern Territory.

The 2026 Series will build on this reach, featuring a team from the United States and broadcasting into the US and Canada. Cricket is a powerful cultural connector across these regions and beyond. With more than 2 billion fans globally, the sport offers an unparalleled opportunity to engage prospective students and showcase the Territory’s unique lifestyle, education opportunities and career pathways.

International education continues to be a key economic driver for the Northern Territory. In 2024, the sector generated $287.1 million in export revenue, making it the region's second-largest services export and sixth-largest revenue sector, supporting more than 1,700 jobs.

Minister for International Education, Migration and Population, Robyn Cahill said the partnership presents a significant opportunity to strengthen global connections.

“Cricket is a cultural connector, and the Top End T20 Series provides an opportunity for the Northern Territory to strengthen trade, education and strategic ties with other cricketing nations.

“The Northern Territory has a world-class higher education and training sector, and we want to increase the number of international students studying with our Territory providers.

“The Study NT partnership with Cricket NT provides an unparalleled global platform to promote the Northern Territory into key international education markets across Southeast Asia and North America.”

Cricket NT Chief Executive Officer Gavin Dovey welcomed the expanded collaboration.

“The Top End T20 Series has quickly become recognised as the second-best T20 competition in Australia, behind the Big Bash League

“We are thrilled to welcome Study NT as Naming Rights Partner for the next two years and look forward to working together to showcase Darwin to key Southeast Asian markets and support the growth of the local international education sector.”

The Study NT Top End T20 Series will take place in Darwin from 20 to 30 August 2026, bringing together international teams, global audiences and new opportunities to position the Northern Territory as a leading destination for study, work and lifestyle.
