International Student of the Year Award profile - Ben Poveda-Alfonso
Meet Ben Poveda-Alfonso. Ben won the International Student of the Year Award in 2018 while he was studying a Bachelor of Accounting with Charles Darwin University.
Ben is one of the founders of international student led organisation Kindness Shake and strongly believes that “winning the award has allowed me to advocate for the things I am passionate about, connect with stakeholders, learn from inspiring Territorians and be recognised amongst the community”.
Ben now works for the Northern Territory Government’s Office of Youth Affairs and is a passionate advocate for international education, youth empowerment and multiculturalism.
Ben says that “it is great to have an award specifically designed for international students. This is your chance to share your story, passions and contributions. It will help you progress your personal and professional life. Go for it! Don’t hesitate, and don’t wait until the last minute”.
