Meet Kylie
In 2019, I made the decision to study abroad. I chose Darwin, the gateway to Asia, making it accessible for visiting my hometown - Saigon, Vietnam. I found Darwin’s time zone is only two and a half hours ahead of Vietnam, which is convenient for making online calls to parents to update them about the easy living here with friendly parks and beautiful sunsets by the breezy beaches and my connection with neighbourly communities. I feel familiar when being here since Darwin has the very same climate as my hometown with a wet and dry season. Particularly, I love Darwin’s unpolluted environment and well-controlled traffic.
As soon as I arrived in Darwin in February 2020, I was seeking a volunteer role to engage in the community and I have been part of Kindness Shake Darwin as the volunteer coordinator since April 2020. In January 2021, I received a promotion to be an events and logistics team leader, a position I am very proud to hold.
I also love dogs and volunteer two days per week at RSPCA, where I care for friendly dogs seeking adoption. I am also interested in yoga, cooking and keen on photography.
