Meet Panitraa Esvaran

I am currently pursuing a Master of Speech Pathology at Charles Darwin University and am honoured to be a recipient of the 2025/26 Study in Australia’s Northern Territory Scholarship.
I completed a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in English for Professionals, specialising in linguistics. My interest in speech pathology developed through both academic training and personal experience. Growing up alongside my brother with ADHD shaped my understanding of the diverse ways individuals process, communicate, and engage with the world. It strengthened my awareness of the importance of patience, structure, and supportive communication in helping individuals reach their full potential.
Prior to commencing my Master’s degree, I gained experience in educational and therapeutic environments. I worked at the International School of Kuala Lumpur, supporting research and administrative initiatives, and volunteered at a speech therapy centre where I observed early intervention sessions for young children with language delays. I also completed job-shadowing at Rainbow Centre Singapore, where I observed therapy for children with developmental and autism spectrum disorders. These experiences reinforced my commitment to evidence-based and family-centred practice.
I chose to study in the Northern Territory because of its strong sense of community and diverse cultural landscape. I look forward to developing my clinical skills at Charles Darwin University while contributing meaningfully to the Darwin community and embracing the unique lifestyle of the Territory.
