Dia de las Velitas (Little Candles Day)

The Colombian-Australian Association of the Northern Territory is hosting a magical evening celebrating Dia de las Velitas (Little Candles Day) on 7 December at Melaleuca Australia. 

This traditional Colombian event marks the beginning of the holiday season with the lighting of candles and fireworks. It's a time for family, friends, and delicious food. 

On the night of December 7, Colombians all around the country light candles in honour of the Virgin Mary and her Immaculate Conception symbolising personal wishes and gratitude.

Let's gather together to honour this beautiful tradition and kick off the festive spirit! Bring your candle and a wish! Food and drinks will be available to purchase.
