Meet Ramya Narayan Khandika
Ramya is an international PhD researcher at Charles Darwin University (CDU), designing fluorine-free firefighting foams to replace conventional PFAS-based formulations. Her contributions as the student representative on the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) NT Branch Committee led to her selection as the Northern Territory representative on RACI's National Young Chemists Committee. An Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering (AINSE) Postgraduate Research Award recipient and international conference presenter, Ramya supports new international students as a CDU Senior Buddy, mentors STEM students, demonstrates in clinical chemistry laboratories, and facilitates the NT Titration Competition. Through her research, teaching, and leadership, she creates opportunities for others while advancing environmentally responsible science in the Northern Territory.
