Meet Clarice
My name is Clarice and I started my journey in Darwin in 2017. I first arrived as an English student and my plan was to start a masters degree at Charles Darwin University (CDU). After finishing, I applied to study at CDU as well as for a Vice Chancellor International High Achiever Scholarship (VCIHAS).
In December 2017 I received an email informing me that I was accepted as a master’s student and in January 2018 I also received the scholarship, it was one of the best moments of my life here in Australia. In 2018 I started my masters degree that I dreamed about so much. It has been a great experience.
Since 2018 I’ve been involved in a range of diverse activities in Darwin. I volunteer for the Australian Red Cross, helping as a community speaker to spread information about refugees and asylum seekers. Also last year I was part of the local dance group: Tracks, we did a beautiful show called In your Blood, for the Darwin Festival at the Botanic Gardens.
I always share my time between studies and social activities. Darwin has a lot of outdoors places to have fun, eat, meet friends and have a great experience, such as markets and festivals. In particular I love going to Mindil Beach Sunset Markets, which has the most beautiful sunsets in the world!
