Meet Alice

alice

Hi, my name is Anh Tho; everyone calls me Alice for short and I was born in a small province in Vietnam. Before I moved to Australia, I never thought that one day I would live Darwin. It always felt like a dream to be able to experience it but here I am!

I started school at Darwin High School in 2019 and I was very fortunate because on my first day I entered school with another Vietnamese girl. This meant that I did not feel too overwhelmed of the school and students and we were able to support each other.

Darwin is not only a welcoming city where I have made a great circle of friends, but Darwin made me feel like my home in Vietnam did. This place has enriched my academics but also supported my maturity as I secured my first ever job here and volunteered to protect abandoned animals at an animal shelter, RSCPA.

I have also been given fantastic opportunities from friends, teachers and even residents in this area. The warm, welcoming people in Darwin have given me the chance to create strong relationships and connections and I will always be grateful for this.
