Meet Biswas

Biswas

I arrived in Sydney in March 2020 to pursue my bachelors of IT at Melbourne Institute of Technology. During this time, I fell in love with the culture and people of this beautiful and peaceful country.

After doing my own research, I realised that Darwin was significantly different than Sydney. I came to know Darwin as a peaceful place with a plus of no traffic jam, most locations in Darwin can be reached within only 15 to 20 minutes of driving.

It worked out in my favour as Canterbury Institute of Management offers the same course that I was studying in Sydney where I was able to transfer my credits over from when I was studying in Sydney.

As an international student, support of the community and organisations are especially important. By following social media pages of the Nepali Community in Darwin, I came to know that there is a big Nepali community of around 5000 people.

I have heard that organisations such as the Nepalese Association of Northern Territory and Kindness Shake are active groups and allow international students the opportunity to take part in various events and activities.

The warm tropical weather and relaxed environment makes Darwin similar to my hometown. I believe that Darwin, Northern Territory is the best place for me to study, work and build my career.
