Meet Basir
Hello. My name is Basir; I’m from Iran, Qazvin. I like to come to Darwin because I have always heard that Australia, especially Darwin is a very good place to study.
My main hobby is reading books. I like to play ping-pong and backgammon, currently attending the second term of guitar lessons and really enjoy playing this musical instrument.
I passed a special exam to get into my high school, it is one of the 20 special schools in Iran for talented students, the level of education is very high in my school, and the competition between the students is also high. There are advanced equipments in our chemistry and physics labs. I am very much interested in physics and mathematics and I get high marks in these subjects. I participate in an advanced English course to improve my English this course is online, and our teachers are from all over the world, in the previous level my teacher was a lady from America.
I also love computer science. Last year I coded a 3D computer game using the coding language ‘Lua’ for the Cultural-Artistic Festival of Qazvin Province and I became first in it.
I have completed the Ruhi Institute Junior youth program. It is a youth empowerment program worldwide offered by Baha’i community for all youths. I always like to work with other people and I am interested in working in any kind of volunteer groups. My goal is to do my best in everything I do and serve humanity with my talent and profession.
I look forward to get to Darwin and explore all the beautiful sights in Darwin and surrounding and see the crocodiles in person.
I would like to thank the Darwin High School for giving me this opportunity, awarding me with scholarship.
