Be there on time to avoid missing the bus. It is always better to start from the main terminal (Casuarina / Darwin / Palmerston) instead of the smaller stops because the times can drift after a few stops.

Always bring the exact change to purchase a bus ticket - or better still, buy a weekly ticket for only $7.

School buses or public buses are available in Darwin and Alice Springs. Tickets are free for school students to and from school. Student concession are available for all international students and are $1 or $2 per trip, or $7 for a week of unlimited travel.

Charles Darwin University and most Northern Territory schools and colleges are well serviced by bus, which also connect Central Business Districts, shopping and entertainment precincts and residential areas.
