
2026 World Cup Watch Party NT
Celebrate the World Game – Study NT and Football Northern Territory are excited to invite you to join in the celebration of our vibrant community and the sport that brings them all together at our very first World Cup Watch Party NT!
Come along as Australia kicks off against Türkiye on 14 June, and join us again to watch the World Cup Final on 20 July! Whether you're a lifelong football fan or simply looking to be part of the excitement. Come celebrate amongst an inclusive crowd of supporters and experience the match-day excitement and atmosphere right here in the Territory.
Watch Party 1: Australia vs Türkiye

To up the stakes and build excitement, attendees are also encouraged to join in our User Generated Content (UGC) competition.
Capture and share your World Cup Watch Party NT experience, including the lead-up, celebrations, cultural pride, and social interactions.
Content examples include:

- Team or national pride (e.g. flags, jerseys, face paint).
- Group participation and community spirit.
How to enter

1. Promoter
This competition is conducted by Study NT, Department of Trade, Business and Asian Relations (DTBAR).
Please note that the watch party and the Social Media User Generated Content (UGC) competition are not affiliated with the official FIFA World Cup.
2. Eligibility
- Entry is open to international students currently residing in the Northern Territory (NT) and the wider community.
- Participants must be aged 18 years or over (or have appropriate consent if under 18).
- Employees of Study NT, DTBAR and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
3. Competition Period
- The competition opens on Tuesday 2 June 2026 and closes on Monday 27 July 2026, 11:59pm (Darwin time).
- Entries submitted outside this period will not be considered.
4. How to Enter
To enter, participants must:
- Attend the World Cup Watch Party
- Follow Study NT Instagram and Facebook channels (@StudyNorthernTerritory)
- Capture a photo or video during the event
- Post the content on Instagram or Facebook, and ensure the privacy setting is set to public
- Include the official hashtag #WorldCupWatchNT #StudyNT
- Tag the official accounts @StudyNorthernTerritory @Football_NorthernTerritory
- Entries must be original and created by the participant.
5. Entry Requirements
- Content must be appropriate, respectful, and not offensive or unlawful.
- Content must not infringe any copyright or licensing requirements.
- Study NT reserves the right to remove or disqualify entries that do not meet these requirements.
- Participants must obtain consent from any identifiable individuals featured in their content, where appropriate.
6. Judging and Prizes
- Winners will be selected based on creativity, relevance to the theme, and overall quality, unless otherwise stated (e.g. People’s Choice awards based on engagement).
- Scoring for People's Choice: Original post reactions (1 point each), and comments (2 points each).
- Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
- All decisions made by the selection panel are final.
7. Winner Notification
- Winners will be contacted via the social media platform used for entry or via provided contact details (Make sure you’ve followed the Study NT channels).
- If a winner does not respond within 2 business days, Study NT reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
8. Use of Content
- By entering, participants grant Study NT a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, share, reproduce, and publish their submitted content for promotional and marketing purposes across digital, print, and social media channels.
- Participants will be credited where reasonably practicable.
9. Privacy
- Any personal information collected will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy legislation and Study NT and the Department of Trade, Business and Asian Relations’ privacy policy.
- Information will only be used for the purposes of administering this competition.
10. Liability
- The Promoter is not responsible for:
- Any technical issues affecting entry submission
- Lost, late, or incomplete entries
- Any injury, loss, or damage incurred as a result of participating in the competition
- Participation is at the entrant’s own risk.
11. Changes to the Competition
Study NT reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the competition if necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.
