2018 StudyNT student ambassadors graduate

Congratulations to the 2018 StudyNT ambassadors who graduated last Friday and are now part of the Territory’s international student alumni.

Nineteen StudyNT student ambassadors have now graduated from the 2018 StudyNT Student Ambassador Program. The year-long program sees up to 20 international students, promote the Territory as a destination of choice for international students and provides them with a range of professional development workshops and learnings.

This year, the StudyNT student ambassadors attended workshops on how to be a good ambassador, how to use social media effectively and resume writing and interview techniques. Ambassadors also got the opportunity to volunteer at community events, support new international students and meet with business leaders, government officials and heads of states from across the world.

In 2018, five StudyNT student ambassadors were selected to participate in the Council of International Students Australia Conference in Cairns, where two of them, Ben Poveda and Manfred Mletsin, were selected as representatives on the national council, providing an amazing opportunity to highlight the Territory at a national level.

We are also very proud of Ben Poveda who was awarded the NT Export and Industry Awards, International Student of the Year Award for his work in promoting international education in the Territory and his extensive community volunteering and engagements. Congratulations also goes to Sunday Mishu was also awarded a high commendation for the International Student of the Year Award.

Additionally, Linh Do and Manfred Mletsin were awarded runner up and winner of the International Vocational Student of the Year Award at the NT Training Awards this year.

As returning Ambassador, Amy Zhang reflects on the year, she says that she has “met great people, friends and mentors through this journey and I am so grateful for those. This program provides international students with lots of opportunities and platforms to showcase, voice and improve themselves, and most importantly, explore a new self and potential. What a wonderful year!”

StudyNT congratulates all the 2018 ambassadors for a fantastic year. Applications for 2019 will be open soon, if you would like to register your interest for next year and participate in this life-changing program, email StudyNT@nt.gov.au.
