Meet Abrar

Ten year old Abrar is from Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is polite and loves to make new friends. Being a bilingual he is comfortable both in Bangla and English. Abrar learns fast with his cognitive learning ability, particularly in English. English is one of the key drivers to persuade him to come and grow as a student in an English-speaking country like Australia. He was a member of British Council Library, Dhaka. He loves reading books. He uses books as a carrier for his English skill development as well as other subjects like, maths and science.

Every year he eagerly waits to visit the Iconic 'Ekushay Boi Mela' (the biggest book fair in Bangladesh to celebrate language, literature, art and culture) and buy books from different discipline. Abrar is also a big Marvel Movie fan like any other kids of his age, at the same time he takes interest in watching National Geography and the Discovery Channel for his special interest in wildlife documentaries. This is how he initially started building up interest about Australia, as Australia has one of the world’s most unique landscapes and wild life. He is also an admirer of Australian cricket team, as his favorite sports are football and cricket.

Travelling is his favorite hobby, he travelled many parts of Bangladesh and Thailand. Consequently, he has a mind for adaptability and find himself complacent in new environment. Abrar arrived here in Darwin in October 2018 and he is already finding his school, The Essington International School Darwin, his new home. The new education system and learning methods excites him in every way, positively reinforcing his learning ability, opening many avenues for his future prospect.
